Utah Traveling Advice

(Top)

As a current resident of Utah I would recommend a couple of things (probably good ideas for trips anywhere):

  • Plan well. A trip to Utah can become frustrating without proper experience or preparation.
  • If you plan to be outdoors and have not spent much time outdoors work with someone who is a guide or knows the areas, weather patterns, etc. of the area.
  • If possible, Drive. Flying into Utah can cut out half of the experience of seeing the scenery.
  • Respect the people, places, and animals.
  • Visit Arches National Park.
  • Visit Moab.
  • Visit Park City.
  • Visit Thanksgiving Point.
  • Visit Sundance.
  • Visit the Uintas.
  • Go to a Jazz game.
  • Go to a Buzz game.
  • Go to a Grizz game.
  • Fish (know the laws and regulations, get your licenses).
  • Take a camera, journal, and no TV.
  • Eat at the Mayan.
  • Watch the speed limits, rush hour times.
  • Use caution when driving. Drivers are not great in urban Utah.
