Looking for a fresh dip? Ever been polar-bearing?

Safety first: know your body of water. Be very cautious of water you have never been in before. Undercurrents, undergrowth, and mud can be very dangerous. The cold water can also be a quick killer. Lightning also is reason enough to stay very clear of the water. If you are unsure about swimming somewhere then don't do it.

If the lake is warm enough and well known or your river is slow enough (obviously this changes if you have the right equipment and plan to raft and you are experienced) then take a dip. It is super refreshing.

Polar-bearing is jumping into an ice filled pond just because you are a nut. Get out as soon as you can and make sure you have plenty of people around to help you if things get tough. Be careful!!

Always have someone else around who is a strong swimmer and knows the proper first-aid.

Try some water tag. Try some water football. Try tubing down your local river. Make it a day at the beach.

Scuba-diving is a blast! Take some lessons. Take a dive.

Whatever you do have fun and be safe!
