Today's flag consists of
thirteen horizontal stripes, seven red, 6 white in
alternating fashion. The stripes represent the original 13
colonies as they were established shortly after claiming
their free land.
Red symbolizes hardiness
and valor.
White symbolizes purity
and innocence
The Union, stars on the blue
field, represents the number of states in the current Union
which form a new constellation upon the blue field.
Blue represents vigilance,
perseverance, and justice
