A Word about Scouting
Scouting for Scouts
"Scouting is a game for boys under the leadership of boys under the direction of a man."
-Lord Baden-Powell

The Boy Scouts of America is an organization designed for young men throughout the world. Troops and associated organizations should be run with the goal in mind to improve and train young men. It is a chance for a young man to experience many avenues of life and learn key principles and values that will help him succeed in the environment that surrounds him.

A Scoutmaster is important as long as he understands his role with the young men. It is the boys' organization and only as needed should adult leaders provide direction and counsel.

Train Them to Succeed
"Training boy leaders to run their troop is the Scoutmaster's most important job.
Train Scouts to do a job, then let them do it.
Never do anything a boy can do.
"

-Lord Baden-Powell

It is common to watch or hear something without having learned a thing. Boy Scouts must practice and experience what they are taught so they will learn it. By doing, as leaders, followers, and adventurers, they are given the chance to succeed.
